New for 2026!

Message from Wetherby Framing and Gallery.
Say hello to our 2026 gallery curator. Lauri from @the_creative_space_uk has been one of the stand out artists we have worked with over the past few years and her energy and enthusiasm made it a very simple offer to hand her the keys to the gallery for the coming year. With the framing side getting busier by the day, it made sense to hand over the day to day running of the gallery space to someone with ideas and passion. Lauri will be launching her first exhibition on Saturday 17th January from 12 noon - 6pm in our freshly painted gallery on Church Street, right in the heart of Wetherby. She will being hosting a range of exhibitions throughout the year as well as offering demonstrations, meet the artist days and anything else she can pack into space we have.
Any artists who may like to be considered as part of this year’s programme can DM Lauri.
We look forward to working together and can’t wait to see what she has planned.

Paper Collage Artist

My artwork is paper collage, often combining mixed media such as painting, printing, and sewing on paper. It’s all about using paper, cut, torn or shaped to create the desired image.

My inspirations are nature and the natural world, especially leaves, foliage and flowers, as well as words! My own and others’ words, including the teachings of my Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh. My practice of mindfulness influences my work both in its content and colours. My colour palette is blues, greens, purples and browns, soothing colours evoking a sense of calm and peace.

My work features intricate details as each flower, leaf and stem is cut out by hand from previously painted papers. It always receives the reaction, “you must have a lot of patience!” Yes, I do! And I love working this way, bringing mindfulness to bear on everything I’m doing.

The work I’m selling includes original paper collages, prints, greeting cards, wooden hanging decorations and poetry booklets and postcards. The original artwork and prints make a stunning addition to any art collection, and if you’re looking for artwork influences by nature and infused with mindfulness, here it is!

In 2026 you can find my work and cards for sale in Wetherby Framing and Gallery, Church St Wetherby. I’ll also be joining Artists Around Wetherby Open Studios from there this year. Come and have a look!

Mindfulness Course Leader

Another role in my working day is as a Course Leader for the three courses run by Plum Village UK
Through my own daily practise of mindfulness and meditation I am inspired to offer these beautiful courses based in the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

The Art of Zen is an introduction into mindfulness from the Plum Village tradition that Thich Nhat Hanh originated.

Looking Deeply and Living Mindfully are both follow-on courses helping you to deepen and develop your own practice of mindfulness.
